Nice helmet! It's one made by Manning Imperial, isn't it?
Yes, It's an heich type made by Manning imperial. I Wear an hardness of three phalerae made by Erik König about some finds which were on a box find in Herculanum. The Cnemides are made by Tony Feldon. I make the clupeum in rawhide.

In case you were wondering, our centurio broke the crestfork for his transverse crest just before these pictures were taken, so he degraded himself to optio, and he was in a very very dark mood. Smile

Hey Jef.

Nice pictures.
It was an interesting weekend and yes your kit really looks good in real.
It was also typical Historia weather.

It was very nice to meet you again, Garrelt, too bad we didn't get to chat longer.

It was very hot and I got seriously sunburned. Smile lol:
I think we can chat a bit in September in Eindhoven.
When we both are not to busy.

Ah, yes, that's true. Smile
Emmanuel,

Well done !

The greaves (Cnemides) are the best I've seen.

Your shield is also interesting. It looks concave or "dished" shaped ?

Jef,

Your look great again in your latest kit. Is this your second event wearing it ? It looks like most ranks are represented in your Legio - archer, auxilia, legionaires, and a cornicen.

Is your legio Trajanic or Flavian ?

BTW, I wonder if the Vexillifer would really stand behind the front rank... Smile

Hope you had a nice weekend. Seems it was a good happening. Unfortanatelly I couldn't attend. Had to work... (yeah, I need some money for all those ongoing projects I have).
Yes it is concave shaped.
I like the pictures.

It's highly reminiscent of the shield Jean Olivier Bourbon made for me. Perhaps we have the same maker ? Smile

Anyway, it's very nice work. I didn't know the Romans used oval, concave shaped shields in your time period.

I have bought the wood in the french firm "Cannes et Bâtons", but after I have made all the decorations piece by piece in rowhide.

Jean Olivier Bourbon is the one who runs Cannes et Bâtons. A real good craftsman, for sure!
