Quote:Me as a terribley over weight 5th century roman, please be kind in your critcism, I have only been going a year.

Plus the club would not allow me to bring my spear to hte party/

Although it isn't exactly my period of knowledge, I think you did a good start. I've seen worse (even by people who were in business much longer then a year)
Will read up on history rather than asking obvious qyestions.

regards smithy.
Quote:I was curious, um I do not know alll the names but would a heavy soldier have worn lorica hamata under lorica segmentata (i think they are the right things (the second should be the plate mail but not that of the first century legion.

You should take a look at the website of Matt Amt, although it´s about 1st century, a lot of items (and thus their latin names) are discussed there. [url:2x9gtcxi]http://www.larp.com/legioxx[/url]

Lorica = armor
Lorica Hamata = ring armor
Lorica Segmentata = the classic Roman iron cuirass of bands or hoop
Lorica Squamata = scale armor (on fabric/leather backend)
Lorica plumata = scales on ring armor

I wouldn't wear a lorica hamata under the your segmentata, but I think you're probably talking about plumata here, I guess.
