Vale,
Jef - Very well done! Big Grin D You and your Brother have done a fine impression!
Nice Gladius and Where did you get that from?
The braces on the back of the parma...do they overlap each other (half-lap joint) or just meet where they cross?

Thanks!

The gladius (both scabbard and sword) was made by RAT member Tony Drake a.k.a. BRENNIVS

Hi David. Well they just meet were they cross. A half lap joint would be stronger but I don't really use this parma for combat...

The backbracing on the parma isn't really necesary to strengten it I think. It's main function is to keep the fabric strongle in place, thicken the grip and provide a stronger base for the umbo nails and the rings of the carrying strap.

Vale,
Wow. It's great.
You and your comrade look great, well done Marcvs Big Grin D
Regards Brennivs Big Grin
Great Impression & gear once again, Jef  !
Wonderful stuff Jef, that gladius is a real work of art from Tony, beautiful work on the scabbard.

This is me (as an archer, so minus armour) earlier this year in Dalby forest, a really nice place.

I'll try and get a picture of me in armour with shield, spiculum etc.
I like them, they look great.
