Ah well, it seems I will have to improve my early fourth century belt quite a bit now so as not to be left behind. Smile
I will need to get back to the arduous job of decorating my tunic as well, not to mention getting a suitable sword and a long sleeved mail shirt. Oh, and fit a spearhead to the ash pole which has been waiting for it for months.

Well done my two comilites!

We will have to make it three some time.

My shoes are based on the Deurne shoe pictured in Bishop and Coulston.

The Batavians were basd at Vindolanda, I think in the 300's, so there you go!

Actually it was Carrawburgh (Brocolitia) but we'll let you off that one as the Ninth cohort were at Vindolanda from circa 85 - 105!

Great Impression Crispvs, and yes! it's about time you finished embroidering that tunic!

@ Franklin.. My footwear are not exactly what you might call 'period' in the photo! Something else I need to amend!
Yes your right, I just read that this afternoon! Too many distractions at the gym!!
Quote:I can't see any reason why not! The Batavi were shipped out to Britannia in 360AD!

You can create a second cohort of those Batavi, or, alternatively, report to the first cohort here: Big Grin

We already discussed that Robert! These guys look great and have a lot more experience in the period that we do currently, so they are a good option.
I am finally getting around to posting a pic of my revamped kit.

Man, those are some nice looking socks!
Good looking kit mate! I see Peronis bling squamata fits well!
Thanks guys! Franklin the socks are made by my wife. She has made several pairs for other board members.
knit or naalbinding?
Paul, your impression looks excellent! Then again, I have already seen it  ...
Looking great Paul!
Paul

Isn't that my Gladius you wear

Be careful with my baby

It sure does. 8)

I think this is the first time I've seen an all-brass armor impression. Very nice, Paul !

Early Augustan ? Or Tiberian era ?

Yup. Including me. She does great work for reasonable prices
