A picture from the past, my Deurne reconstruction back in 2005.
This is still a work in progress and some of the old features, like the saddle have been replaced.

Awesome and at the same time, scary, so perfect!
HAH ahhh Crispvs, that was really funny, me and my sister loved it!! Especially the throwing up into the helmet!!! I think re-enactors are naturally great actors. I know re-enactors has the word "actors" in it, but they really are! I'm searching youtube for more of these Big Grin thanks again,

Sam
I am not reenactor, but I can show here my drawing if you dont mind.

It should be centurion of the Legio X Gemina Pia Fidelis (AD 172 - 180).

Helmet - brass Imperial Italic H

Body armour - lorica squamata with breastplates

Shield - according to the Arch of Constantine and Czech reenactors

Sword - quite old-fashioned for this period but I decided for Gladius Pompeianus
Martin, I really like your drawing. The gladius pompeianus? Don't worry, Russel Crowe used one during that era, so it should be accurate
@garrelt, 2005 is it really that long ago Confusedhock: great to see the great progress in your work and kit and riding skills... Sorry for given you that english saddle back then
Quote:Jurgen,
looking awesome!!

A book to be published. Totally interested in that and definitely interested in purchasing that if it available to the public!!

Some news about this 'show your Roman impression' photobook. The publisher is doing all he can to get it published in June this year, during the Roman festival in Nijmegen.
To make it happen, you can now pre-order the book.

The book looks interesting and what a great idea.
Will it be available in English?
If the book is similar to the medieval one (published before) then it'll be both Dutch and English. But I can't tell for sure.

A quick impression of my kit last year...

Ziet er goed uit Sander!

As far as I know the 2 papers in it (short introductions) are in Dutch only. But then, hey, it's about the pictures! So, after a small number of (general) information about the Roman empire and it army (which you already know) it has dozens of pictures.
Over 150 re-enactors are photographed.
Valid point...it is all about the pictures.
