Just received an e-mail form Playmobil Customer Service -- the Romans are scheduled to be released in the US this August.

No word on exactly where or at what price point however most of the big retailers have them (Target, TRU, etc) so it would seem a safe bet that the Romans will be there.

How appropriate that the Romans should arrive in the month of Augustus... :wink:

you're welcome! Great news - then they will be available in time.

Playmobil seems to test a new series in their home country for half a year. Playmobil is famous in Germany for a great customer service. They usually replace a missing piece within a few days. (And many people order single parts to combine own custom made figures). In 'our' Playmobil online shop also single Legionaries are available to increase units.

Hope one day they will also offer more decent helmets :roll:

Did you notice they don't have armour on their backs?

At least we can change the spear & shield to the proper side, although in the movie they carry them in the wrong hands!

right, but the helmets have no 'nice' side at all.

The 'left-handed' Romans seem to be a tribute to the artists who made the catalogue and box-covers. They want to an army marching from left to right but also show the shield design...
