Ah, you know the career of Late Roman soldiers: miles - vicarius - emperor - bishop (if they're lucky).

Quote:I really enjoyed seeing you all again, it nearly has the feeling of a big late roman family!
I feels that way indeed! Jeroen, my 7-year-old son does not come to Archeon often, but he did not mind at all wandering around the park in the midst of hundreds of strangers, because as he said "I know them all". Both my kids related to that 'part of the gang' feeling that now seems to have become a hallmark of this event.

Quote:I'm really sad that I was there only on saturday evening and sunday.
Serves you right for telling me you were not coming and then arriving after all!

Quote:Next time a complete week, please, or more :!: Smile
(next year won't work at all, there's the pilgrimage and later the Roman Military Equipment conference in Newcastle from 17. - 23. august)
Nah, it won't be for another two years, I thionk that's a given. And a week, well, we can suggest it, why not? A less rigorous program with one show a day would mean we'd be trained as a single group, so we'd be able to forego training in the weekend.

I really have some fun and now i miss it. I want to congratulate our Faventianus, but he have to do more practice against the encirclyng manouvres used frequently by barbarians chieftains...

Sure the best LRE by now.

The royal boy?

You know late roman rulers change quickly....

Sergi is now taller than myself, so he can't make the role of a child...

so there eventually will be Late roman event IIII next year? Wow! I hope that will work! It would be great! Hm, but maybe the batavi are already having an event on that date, heard something like that from the minervii... So we will have to plan very early.

It is Antoine, the son of Alain/Arbogast of the foederati. He also assumed the role of draconarius for the event
"O niurt Ambrois ri Frangc ocus Brethan Letha."
"By the strenght of Ambrosius, king of the Franks and the Armorican Bretons."

English.
We had English, Dutch, German, French, Brezhoneg (Breton), Catalan and Euskara (Basque) and a bit Spanish  . And we could have had Suomi (Finnish) as well as Czech added to that!

Best of all, we had a vicarius by the name of Faventianus who could translate his orders into most of these languages.
All hail Faventianus, our terrific vicarius!!
Quote:Yes, all hail Faventianus!

Seems we have somebody who might be raised to the purple next time around...

It's not a healthy career step, but what the heck...

Ahhh that Favi, he should be elevated as Emperor or Pope then

Hey, hey!

Hold it there boys!! Vicarius is enough!

Touching words Robert and Andreas, thanx... Cry

The small vexillatio of Cohors I Gallica returned yesterday, exhausted but in one piece! 8)

It's been a real pleasure for us to attend Big Grin cry: At least, my spirit travelled for a short while through Archeon's sky during the prototype's plumbata only flight... Tongue
