Yeah ! I thought that someone did a topic about the event but finally there was nothing.

I was hoping to be there again at the end of next june but it seems that the thema for the next big summer event in Marle will be republican times... Interesting also but just as a tourist for me.

Bye !

Yeah ! Great Week-end ! We had the opportunity to sleep in the merovingian (frankish) village and it was great, really great. That was also my first fishing experiment with a roman line in freshwaters and though my friends were smiling cos' they were sure that I would not catch a single fry, I fished one 2 inch long suicidal fish. Glorious !

The experiments with cavalry were also really impressive. We met once again with a lot of pleasure the germanic warriors from the Limitis. Though we had some good scenari for the battles they lead a surprise attack on the roman camp. We are not true soldiers but I've been really impressed how quick we took our weapons and formed the ranks to repel them.

A few of my prefered pictures :

Next antiquity big event is the last week-end of june. The late roman "maffia" is not sure to be drafted because republican times and cavalry with hippika gymnasia, quadrigae races and also gaulish essedum are rumored to be favoured next year. Horses and riders are expensive and the Aisne is the poorest region of France.

Fortunately, there are the more "intimate" merovingian days where we should gather once again. We aim at giving all-day life to the village instead of the classical tent camp. Let's wait the decisions of the manager/curator.

Vale !
