Base for Archaic Greek sword
#16
Not only spartan but all swords had been shorter arround 4th century B.C.
Too bad this item cannot be found any more but it is good prototype for Archaic conversions.
Kind regards

The only replicas of the LotR "Sting" blade I can find have stainless steel blades, unfortunately.

Yes,true...that's the case with mine, too.Remember that for the "sting" you have to stamp out the letters, wich means you have to work on the whole blade...Fortunately that was done for me befor I got the sword.

Check out the "Mini Mainz" blade in the Albion Swords Moat Sale section---halway down that page. This would be more suitable for a dagger perhaps, but it has that "leaf blade" feel to it.

They have one in bronze too (near the top of that page) but the bronze casting, I am informed by Mat Amt, is rediculously overthickened and would need a significant amount of stock removal in oreder to make it resemble a sword. Matt guessed it was 3 pounds!.

Just some ideas...

Cheers,
Tim
