Thanks for reminding me of that possibility, Stefane! Was there an inscription to him on the Monument at Thermopylae?

Nope! We know him only because his family spoke to Herodotus and Herodotus wrote about him.
All references to those who fought there were indirect in the monuments. Kind regards
