Caesarius of Arles belt and buckle
#1
Ave,

Could anyone point me towards any scholarly literature on the belt and buckle of Caesarius of Arles? I have found several things online: http://www.flickr.com/photos/medievalkarl/6815727601/ and http://www.patrimoine.ville-arles.fr/arl..._oeuvre=37 but would really like to find out more detailed information. My apologies if this has been discussed before but I couldn't come up with anything in a search of the site.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Lucianus

I think this item was discussed in Die Franken - Wegbereiter Europas. At least there are references to more articles about it. Please remind me later, I'm away from my library until Saturday..

For now, there's this link:

Robert,

Thank you, this is a great help. I bought that book this summer, but haven't had a chance to delve into it yet. I'll check it out when I get home.

BTW did you or anyone else out there in RAT land happen to see the exhibit at the Louvre last winter "The relics of Saint Caesarius of Arles." I guess the belt and buckle were on display there. I'd be curious to know if any sort of a catalog was published for it.

Best,
