Greek writings of Celtic names...
#16
Depends on the dialect.

In the doric dielct the "H" sound would be spoken and the B = V is spoken

so it could also be: ΚΟΡΙCIOC ΟΡΓΕΤΟΡΙΓIDES HΕΛBΕΤΟC

and if its being inscribed on a weapon, you might use the genitive:
KOPICIOY OPΓETOPIΓIDOY HEΛBETOY

The IDES or IDIS ending on at the end of fathers name appears in Homer

as Achiles son of Pileus is called PILIDES

If your head spins with all this rember that before the so called "standarization" of the Helliniki koini (Kommon Greeks) by the Alexandrine scholars (may they rot in Hell!!!!) the dialects were kep tin the localities as prized possesions.

Kind regards

Yep my head spins

I quess I just have to go fore one of these options...

Oh yeh remember the name KOPICIOC is allready found written on a Celtic word as it is, so for me there's no need to change that also...

The Celt (KORICIOC) who ordered (or made) the sword had probably no qlue about the need of changing his name into something genitive or such, when he put it on his possesion.
He was probably allready happy enough, just by being able to write his name anyway... :?
