Graham Sumner is the author of many books and articles on the Roman Army, including Brassey's Roman Army: Wars of the Empire. His illustrations have appeared at the Grosvenor Museum, Chester and the Archaeological Museum, Durham. Raffaele D'Amato has written many articles on Ancient warfare, and has a special interest in the military equipment of Ancient Rome and Byzantium.
