WWII Tank Simulator

Having thoroughly enjoyed Ubisoft/Maddox Games' Il2 series aircraft simulators and their Silent Hunter submarine sims, I thought what more natural next step for them but a tank simulator- before you get your hopes up, my query in one of their fora was met only with mentions of a couple of Russian/Ukrainian game companies' upcoming offerings, at least one of which, Steel Fury: Kharkov 1942, offers a downloadable alpha version to mess around with. It's not bad- allowances have to be made of course for it not being a final release version, but it does seem a touch 'old' with respect to its graphics and gameplay, but it's still pretty cool. The really unfortunate things are that there's no release date, no information whatsoever about it being available outside Europe, and despite actually saying they'd like feedback, there's no place to email and the only forum around is entirely in Ukrainian (I think), so if you can't read Cyrillic, good luck actually signing up so you can post :lol: If anyone can and would care to detail just which buttons to click and what to do to sign up or who would tell them they're not making this easy, that'd be awesome :wink:

Hmmmm. it would be nice if microprose would just update M1A2 tank platoon, now that the computers can do so many amazing things these days, It would be great to see that game with more depth.

there was also an M1Abrams sim released by Janes, which was good in its day, but lost the cd and cannot find anywhere that has it....

sorry to stray, but tanks are a favorite of mine, also gunships..... :twisted: and was just discussing this very topic with some ex soldiers I work with!
