Hi,
on the lead balls on pila of the praetorians from the Cancelleria reliefs there are depictions of eagles. I'll try to find a picture.
Rankov (The Praetorian Guard, p. 25) writes, that eagles also decorate some praetorian tombstones (CIL VI, 2742; 37193) - I haven't seen pictures of these, so I can't confirm it. He also mentions a coin of Caligula, where the emperor is addressing his cohortes (presumably cohortes praetoriae), and where eagle standards are in the background.
Rankov comes to the conclusion that "It is possible, therefore, that the eagle was a Praetorian as well as a legionary symbol."
Greetings
