Yeah, "geometric" grass can be as easy and as simple as one 2-sided tri per "blade" of grass if you wanted to go that route. Unfortunately I think that'll increase your "poly" count greatly and make rendering an even bigger pain in the patookis. If you want, I can make a very high res grass terrain texture for you (it'd really be no bother at all, as I am very skilled at it). What is the resolution of the current grass terrain texture you are using?
