And a fair question, "Barkhorn!" Apologies... should have said yesterday... I was in my local "EB Games" shoppe Sunday afternoon inquiring about "Total War" and the Roman supplement specifically. The Manager logged on the corporate computer and checked availability. It was he who gave me the projected release date. Hope that helps!
==========================================

Sooner the better! I'll be eager to give it a whirl. I liked the other TW games, have always wanted to see a Roman version done.
I would suggest a more accurate release date would be late next year. Probably around christmas.

Mid-year seems very early to me. Usually CA will release a demo about two months before the game, so once the demo arrives we would be a bout two months from release.....
The screen shots and description sound promising.
BTW - one of the Devs. on the Total War site - stated that R:TW is ON SCHEDULE for a fall 2004 release.

I'm betting October will be the month.

More info.;
- Many of the unit graphics are being re-done - including the horses - which looked like crap. They will repost Units pictures at the .COM site beginning in a week or so.
- The strat. map is being re-done. This is good, IMO, as the original colors/icons/etc. were too cartoony.

With all this extra time to go I believe the end result is going to be great. Not a perfectly accurate sim mind you, but an emersive game play experience. It will certainly be MUCH better than Praetorians or Legion or – cough – Pax Romana.
