Would all of Alexander's elite troops wear the Kausia? How about his elite archers (Cretans) and the Agrianes..? Was this hat only allowed for the Macedonian nobles..?

The only "regulations" for a Macedonian army surve in fragmented plates in Dion and headress has not been described or the approriate fragments have not been found yet.
The "afgani cup" is mentioned by Herodotus while describing Xerxes troops. The kafsia in my opinion -based on some "hermes heads" was like the WWII british helemet but of course made of straw and covered with cloth. Tha flat "afgani cup" was adopted later. Kind regards
