Painted military tombstones [reconstruction]
#16
Quote:I am embarassed to admit that
I have only just now finally worked out how to access the higher
resolution images (of details of the stones) from the thumbnails on the
imagebase pages, since it seems to work in a somewhat non-intuitive
manner and is not explained anywhere (that I could see).
Faq added to prevent this for the future.

Quote:No hurry, Harry, I don't start teaching the course til October! Did you see the recent exhibition of painted sculpture in - somewhere in the Netherlands? I've seen the catalogue and it looked fantastic; there was a web-site - has someone got a link to it?

Kate

Alright, I'll send you some higher resolution images in a few days or so.
I regret that I never saw that exhibition. If anyone has a link to it then
that would certainly be interesting.

Good, it took me a while to work it out (but then I'm probably just
stupid :? )

Quote:Gave him one
(others were faster, though!)

Thanks, everybody!

Very good work! I love those bright clear colours. I have too done some experiments colouring ancient statuary, though not as detailed.

Salve Arrius,

very, very nice project, a further laudes point by me. I tried to reconstruct Caelius' phantastic tumbstone in 1 : 32 and amazingly I came to nearly the same results in the colors of his equipment like You (scroll down to the middle of the site):

link from old RAT

Continue with Your good work. I wish You could color the complete Image database.
