Hi all
I have read many times that in the Late Roman army heavy cavalry was more important than infantry, so I have taken a look to the Notitia Dignitatum for some reference, and I have found that out of 88 units of equites listed, only 7 are clibanarii and 6 cataphractarii, just 13 heavy cavalry out of 88, not that many (soryy, I counted more than once units the first time)
BTW is there any work accesible on line on the composition of the Roman army following the Notitia Dignitatum? I think that it would be nice to have the composition of armies and their geographical location
