Greek helms
#1
Greetings,
this is selling Ancient greek as well as some later Roman helms.
(if this link is ok, I am a little confused about the posting rules on this)
What I am trying to work out is whether some of the helms are original or simply made to look that way....I particularly like that first Macedonian helm with the griffin crest...

Look to be reproductions  .
They have some nice reproductions under the statues section..

The enemy is less likely to get wind of an advance of cavalry, if the orders for march were passed from mouth to mouth rather than announced by voice of herald, or public notice. Xenophon

Philip said that the Athenians were like the bust of Hermes: all mouth and dick.

Some of those helmets are pure fantasy, but there are a few which appear to be fairly accurate reproductions. BTW the cheek guards seem to be the wrong way around on the "Byzantine Cavalry Full size Helmet". Smile

The Green ones are antiquated for the tourists.
They are all Museum copies.
The first one comes from a pottery depiction shoeing a warrior with an elaborate crest..
The snake marks him as a Beotian or Lakonian "SPARTOS" : a person who can claim native - indigenous status from the "Heroic Age".
Kind regards
Stefanos
