The enemy is less likely to get wind of an advance of cavalry, if the orders for march were passed from mouth to mouth rather than announced by voice of herald, or public notice. Xenophon

It does look like Hercules/Xena...mixed with some authenticity (I liked Hercules, Xena and Sinbad series... ) and would be fun to watch....and Christopher Cazenove is a respectable actor..
I think the males around here will like the young ladies in those outfits, authentic or not...!!!
I love that music the site is playing......be worth watching for that alone!!!

Thanks,Arthes, for the info. I always enjoy movies with classical themes. I can't help but wonder, though, where the trend toward "the beginning" type films will end. It used to be sequels, now "pre-quels".What's next-"Embryonic Heros"? Perhaps the demand for authenticity has the writers backed into a corner. Not much to say about characters who had such short lives except to re-hash the same old story with newer actors. I am looking forward to seeing it,though.Thanks.Andy

Greetings,
There is yet another Alexander film coming next year.....now I remember this...[url:1sb5rfri]http://www.thezreview.co.uk/comingsoon/a/alexander.htm[/url]
Universal's film of Alexander is finally to begin shooting next year.
Alexander is played by Leonardo di Caprio - an Italian playing Alexander.... (but a very good actor) and Nicole Kidman plays Olympia..

I wish Mel Gibson give me a part on his Alexander Epig if he would allow some scene of Philip's young life, and if I have time to finish with my Philip outfit! Sad roll:

Di Caprio is good, but I would like it if they choose him when he did The Man in the Iron Mask, he look younger & nice for the role....Now he look very Alchoholic!

I doubt the Salkind production will ever make it to theatres, it's probably going direct to video.
As to the Baz Luhrman/di Caprio version, that production is on hold and will probably never be made after the box-office of the Stone "Alexander".

On a different note, IMDB lists a new John Boorman film, "Memoirs of Hadrian" with Antonio Banderas, based on the bestselling novel. That might be fun.
