Cpt. Kirk as Alexander the Great...?
#1
It just doesn't get any better than this...

A TV pilot from 1964 with William Shatner as Alexander.

Has anyone seen this film?

This production probably came to life riding on the coat tails (or cape in this case) of the feature film The 300 Spartans. But while that film could boast 300 Spartans that's nothing compared to a "Shirtless Shatner." Confusedhock:  :?

What a feast for the eyes...to say nothing of the drama or the horror depending upon your view of Shatner as an actor.

Hey, it has Batman in it too  (Adam West)

Captain Kirk and Batman. What a team  Nothing can stop them.

I might watch it for laughs depending on how cheap it is...oh, no, leather armor... Tongue

He's classically trained and therefore a fine actor in my book.

Shatner probably has a better build for the part than the then-scrawny Richard Burton when he played Alexander (1956).

Woah! Big Grin lol: ).

I'll have to rent this sometime, or judging from the Amazon listing price, just buy it.

I've seen it, got it for something like 5 bucks on Amazon. It's the pilot for a never filmed TV series. John Cassavetes is in it, too, he's the bad guy. Strange thing. Most of the time, it feels like a 50s Western with the Macedonians being the cavalry and the Persians being the Indians. Scenes of about 10 Macedonians riding through some Utah landscape, all of a sudden, the Persians attack (arrows etc.), hectic withdrawal by the Macedonian scouts, etc., you get the picture. Really weird experience.

Captain Picard is a rather better Sejanus than Captain Kirk's Alexander in my book
