Christian,
Which system, lacing or buckles?

It\'s all an accident, an accident of hands. Mine, others, all without mind, from one extreme to another, but neither works nor will ever.

Aitor,
The eyelets are just punched holes 5mm diameter.

I'd say lacing. That is a system we know. Most gladiatorial equipment had a military background, hence I would make the subarmalia similar to the Gladiator textile armor.

Christian,
are you referring to the same kind of lacing as Adrian does? (i.e. criss-crossed through eyelets)
Adrian,
Thus, your subarmalis is made of leather, isn't it? Otherwise, i'd like to know how do you keep your punched eyelets in size 8)
