What I think Sajid means is "How many times did Roman Armies win or Lose"... no idea but I guess a lot either way... my impression is that Romans lost a lot maybe more then they won... but were excellent at recovery, but thats just an impression...

"And the four bare walls stand on the seashore. a wreck a skeleton a monument of that instability and vicissitude to which all things human are subject. Not a dwelling within sight, and the farm labourer, and curious traveller, are the only persons that ever visit the scene where once so many thousands were congregated." T.Lewin 1867

Roughly a 70% win rate, you might do better to look at periods, say Republic or Empire as there is some difference, or even Punic wars etc.

find a book on the period, like this one with 170 odd battles and some good data as well as some best guesses, and calculate to your hearts content.

Spartan military achievemnts in the 4th century.

"A bit" difficult to give any reply. We don't have enough figures, and the one we have are a bit misaligned. And, sometime there is a misalignment between roman sources and enemy sources.
