Yes, if it were supposed to be a palla, the headcovering would be too small. The end would need to hang at least as long as my thighs and more likely down to calf length to look "classical." I was just aiming for a simple shoulder shawl. The weave on this material is very loose, almost gauzelike, and so it ventilates well.<br>

I am wearing two layers, an under and an outer dress. The undertunic is exposed. Probably this should be corrected on my next effort!<br>

I'll have to make some scans of the jewelry. The jewelry, like the leather purse, are conjectures based upon similarities to actual Roman jewelry and leathercrafts.<br>

I looked over everything with Martin beforehand, and he was quite merciless himself about things that I had thought might work, but apparently were not up to snuff, based on the Roman items he's seen.<br>

I wish I had taken more photos of the everyday items in all the Roman museums I've been to. Have been so fixated on res militariae that I've quite forgotten to document the rest, which would have been useful right about now.<br>
