Shield Designs from the East

does anyone know of any sculptural (or other) evidence for the kind of shield devices used by the legions in the East (by preference 2nd century AD)? I would assume they were very similar to those depicted frex on monuments in Rome, but I may be mistaken there.<br>

The collection of tombstones of Legio III Parthica (early 3rd C) in Apamea might be interesting here, but it hasn't been published in full. Moreover, most 3rd C tombstones don't show separate shields. <p>Greets<br>

That's the trouble. Some have been published (Balty & Van Rengen, Apamea), but most haven't. In fact, it looks like they're going to be published here on the Imagebase first. <p>Greets<br>
