Excellent news for typology wonks everywhere as a new (the first?!) Carthaginian helmet comes to light (there's also a Roman helmet in the picture but they seem less excited about that). Presumably it's a Type A (unless they found the Type B first and the Type A comes later) ... ;-)

You know my method. It is founded upon the observance of trifles
I'm getting a 404 when I try the helmet section of the website. Does anyone have a better picture of the Carthaginian helmet? I'm having trouble getting a good idea of the original form based on the picture in the linked article.
Same problem here.
But I did find that paper on their website: http://www.journalofromanarch.com/samples/v25.Royal.pdf
It includes a picture of 4 helmets found there, various specifications and a small discussion (around p28)
I'm still not clear which, if any, of the pictured helmets is claimed to be Punic. They all appear to be montefortinos, except that one has a higher calotte. Is that the Punic one? The description in the first article led me to believe it would be quite different. It sounded something more like the helmet on the bust of Pyrrhus of Epirus.
Thank you all. I clipped and attached the picture of the Carthaginian helmet for reference. I think that several of those articles don't actually show the helmet itself, but only the montefortinos.
Still, I can't really picture the helmet in it's original form. I hope to see the helmet restored in the near future.
