Easy Tinning Kit
#1
I just found this nifty little tin plating kit for around $30 dollars on the Caswell site. Take a look at the plating video to see how easy it looks. You won't be tinning any helmets with it but it would be perfect for the little bits. Better yet, Caswells is only about a five minute drive from my house.
Yes, I have used it extensively. The wand, and the larger tank kit are the same I referred in the previous several threads on tinning- scroll back a bit in time and you'll find them. The plug 'n plate is very easy to use, and works quite well. I've used on already assembled belts and such. It's coverage is very thin however, and builds up pretty slowly. Tin is very soft, and you need it pretty thick for real durability. Cooking pots for example are thickly plated, and should be retinned every year. I mostly use it to touch up spots, and get areas that don't go into the tank well. Caswells service is quick, and friendly.
