The Spanish skinning knife sounds Interesting!
I had totally missed the step from pugio's reappearing inthe
third cent and still being in use in the fourth!
I haven't seen many portrayed in use though.

Hi!
I got two more questions, if you guys don't mind.
1. Can we argue for a francisca in late 4th century? I know of a few cavalry axes in carvings (Gamzigrad, Tetrarch-statue ornament), and a few decades later the NotDig shows us axes in the Fabrica section (meaning they were produced in the fabricae).
2. Would a semispatha-like dagger be viable? Like a total length of 30 cms or so. I know of single edged knifes in decorated scabbard from Hungary, heck, I even have the article. But I just can't figure out one thing: didn't they have not leaf-like (so basically, thin, and pointy) daggers?
