While this may intrest only a few I know that alot of people hold off on miniatures with the idea that unless they can paint award winning miniatures they will be mocked and ridiculed. The truth is that even after practice on one or two miniatures a persons painting skill jumps incredibly, and there are dirty cheating secrets that can help you quickly attain your own cohort with which to do battle.
Most of these Tutorials will be for 28mm (the most common miniature size) I tend to deal with 6mm more but will try post anything I can find.
The biggest/dirtyest secret - Dipping. This is what I use currently for mass armys, and while painting specialists snort derisively at this technique I think its critical to getting 4000 miniatures painted and prepped, as oppose to every mid rank, unseen soldier having their fingernails intricately painted - leave that for the commanders.
