Hi
I'd like to put the following sites on the map_
(predominantly if not exclusively dedicated to Roman Times)
The Limes Museum , Aalen
http://www.limesmuseum.de/limesmuseum.52501.52497.htm
Limesmuseum Aalen, St.-Johann-Straße 5 , (D-) 73430 Aalen (Inside the remains of a Roman Ala Camp)
Tel: 0049(0)7361 528287-0
Fax: 0049(0)7361 528287-10
E-Mail: [email protected]
The Limes Museum, Osterburken
http://www.roemermuseum-osterburken.de/i...&FS=normal
Zweigmuseum des Archäologischen Landesmuseums Baden-Württemberg
Römerstraße 4 , (D-)74706 Osterburken
Tel. 0049(0)6291-415266
Fax.0049(0)3212-1048279
(Not far away from the remains of an Antonine auxiliary double camp.
Also sporting a site of a roman watchtower along the limes Limespark)

The Lobdengau-Museum, Ladenburg
http://www.lobdengau-museum.de/
http://www.lobdengau-museum.de/preise.htm
Amtshof 1, (d-)68526 Ladenburg
http://www.lobdengau-museum.de/anfahrt.htm
Don't be fooled by the modest appearance -- small IS beautiful in that case.
The Museum is sited just inside the riverside ( well , in Roman Times, that is!)
of the Roman City of the 3rd century AD. An ex-episcopal Palace.
Just a stones' throw ouside of a Roman auxiliary camp ( or rather TWO of them)
from the 1st & 2nd century AD and a Valentinian burgus from the 3rd third or the 4th century AD.
Römerkastell Saalburg

http://www.saalburgmuseum.de/english/sb_en_home.html
ARCHÄOLOGISCHER PARK
Saalburg 1 , D-61350 Bad Homburg v.d.H.
TEL +49 (0) 6175 / 9374-0
FAX +49 (0) 6175 / 9374-11
[email protected]
Inside a Roman auxiliary camp but outside of any modern Settlement,
this was the first Roman camp of its size in Germany ( including the accompanying vicus)
that has been (nearly) completely excavated and repeatedly restored.
Mainstay of the Deutsche Limes Kommission with the Saalburg Institute.

And ist got a Facebook Account!
https://www.facebook.com/pages/R%C3%B6me...8515025349
....and, of course it has got a LIZ (Limesinformationszentrum) -- just like Aalen.
Ranking of these sites is, however accidentally and by no means intended to prejudice you.
Hope this helps
