Thanks so much! Does the greater size of the marching camp vs. a permanent camp simply have to do with the numbers of men involved? Are there examples of single cohort marching camps?

And under what circumstances might they be moving around? During a conquest phase, when we might assume the countryside to be fairly lawless? (Answer: probably not. hock: ) Or during a later phase, when the major routes have been pinned down with forts and fortlets?
