PierPaolo.

That is an impressive selection indeed I like them all, and I am very sure that people will be getting in touch with you soon. I also like the variation in the handles for each one has it's own individual appearance.

I've always wondered about using bone as a grip...even with the carved sections for fingers, does it get harder to hang onto a sword covered in blood versus one wrapped in wire or leather? Wood? Which material makes for the best sword-grip, or is it a simple matter of affordability/personal preference?

Wood tends to get slick when wet with sweat or blood, but bone gets *sticky*. So it's a better grip. Harder than wood, too, so less likely to break. And of course there is always FASHION!

Lovely swords, by the way!

in my opinion all the materials are good (bon, ivory, wood)only the metal fot the grip could be not good in fact the hand during the battle whit the sweat could lost the taken of the gladius.

Munazio,
Beautiful swords. How did you silver-gild the guard and pommel of the third sword from the left? Is it silver foil hammered over wood?
