Hi All,
I am resurrecting this one.

What a great book as far as reading a great and engaging story that deals with issues of honor, loyalty, and moral courage.

While reading this though, one criticism came to mind. It was mentioned earlier on this post, but does anyone else get the feeling that the Roman Army that Breem describes is more along the lines of the late first/second century as opposed to the year 406?

Cheers!!,

yeah, I mentioned that in another thread. This book was written a long time ago, long enough for the author to completely miss any research done on the Late Roman army.

Mike,

I just finished reading this yesterday! The same thing occured to me, but then I wondered if this was actually a deliberate part of the story - the old fashioned general fighting (and winnning for a while) the old fashioned way?

Great read though, thoroughly enjoyed it.
