full muscled lorica, helmet and facemask on italian TV
#1
Hi guys
last night on italian TV an historian/archeologist Livio Zerbini of the University of Ferrara disclosed a full armor he found in Colchide, Georgia (Black Sea) an area first ventured into by Pompey. I understand the armor was NOT from Pompey's time but from the 2nd century testifying roman activities over a long period.

Keep an eye posted as the pictures of this very nice piece of armor will soon be hitting the news. I understand that last night show was exclusive. Armor set: helmet with facemask, lorica musculata, pteruges, forearm amor (similar to graves for legs), spear head, and other smaller pieces. Zerbini says that it is made of brass! He had the permission of the Georgian government to bring it to Italy so that he can analyse it in great detail.

I wonder if any of the italians on this forum saw it. The program is called "Voyager" and it is one of the worst programs on italian TV, but I watched it because I knew they were going to reveal this armor. The program is so bad that they spend a great deal of time just showing the stupid van with the armor inside pull up to the studio escorted by police and then too little time showing the armor in detail. The face mask is very VERY beautiful and the musculata's decorations too. They did not show closeups of the forearm "graves" or the other pieces.

We're already discussing these items link from old RAT

To me, and others on here, it seems to be fakes.
