Hi Uwe
Yes Jasper is correct there are about 10 Connolly paintings that do not appear in his other books and one a battle against the Celts in the mountains that comes from his Hannibal book. Plus there are a couple from his earlier Roman works. One of his paintings shows an entire cavalry ala.
General Sir John Hackett was an associate member of The Ermine Street Guard and I had the pleasure of meeting him at his house once.
I managed to get a second hand copy of the book a few years ago.
Graham.
