Duncan. The book that deals with the 255 degree line as the late Raymond Selkirk refered to it, runs from Whitley Bay on the east coast to Maryport on the west coast.

Hmmm ... I don't mean to be disrespectful, but I see there's a copy on Alibris for £46. Maybe that's why nobody seems to have read it.

Duncan In another subject on camps you give a link to Google books and also you mention MacLaughlin who in the link refers to Hodgson and his comments about Dewley Law, Heddon Law, and Turpins Hill.
All of these places are on Raymond Selkirk's 255 line and it was these places that began the search for Raymond queried Hodgsons measurements, and when he checked them he found them all to be 1,620 yds apart and many others through out the line.
This line crosses Hadrians' Wall just west of Milecastle 15 project the line west and it goes to Maryport, do it east and it goes to Whitley Bay.
