Congratulations to Germany! It was a great game. We tried to surprose them (specially at the end of the game), but the german team was very solid.

their lack of pace at the back nearly cost them though.I cringed when i saw Ronaldo v Mertesacker one on one!

Happy for the turks as well!Im glad their never say die attitude and spirit was rewarded!Quite a tense finish!

Yep, I was happy for them too - especially because their compatriots know how to celebrate it (slide show; ne mutlu türküm diyene). It was still noisy at 3.30 and I could not sleep, but I won't complain.

Well die Oranje have had their wings well and truly clipped.I must say i was surprised at this result,i mean i knew that the Guus Hiddink inspired russians would run them close but i didnt expect them to win.Still it has added to the tournament and now no one will be so certain when making a prediction.

Congrats to Spain, the victory was well-deserved. I don't know what the Italians were upt o, but if they speculated on a penalty-shootout they got what they asked for and lost anyway. It would've been really unfair if Italy had won despite doing nothing for their offense at all during the game.

I feared Italy would lose after just 10 minutes, but not because Spain played sigificantly better! Wasn't Spain supposed to win 3-to-2? In truth I would say that it was one of the worst games I saw!

Italy should have played like they did against France. But they didn't. Maybe because they ran out of steam. Spain did not impress me at all and unless they really get their act together they will be kicked out by Russia. RUSSIA impressed me. Spain? No way Jose'

I think the same about Italy, they didn't play football, they played kick boxing.

My apologies to our Dutch friends. As I mentioned before, having me come out in support of a team is the kiss of death. So if you want a team knocked out in the semis let me know. I will be cheering them on for you Big Grin
I think Russia is going to be a surprise in final four. But I'm not saying anything 8)
Congrats on a good run to the Dutch national team.

You are easily pleased!! Big Grin

Nah, I consider selling arms to the anemy an act of national betrayal... (of course he can only redeem himself by beating Germany in the final).

Yes, I'm rooting for a final between Germany and Russia. Turkey has been extremely lucky so far, and I was not amused by the match between Spain and Italy. Germany and Russia play technically more attractive football.
