Photos- First century Celtic sword

In the British Museum today, so some pictures. This is a first century Celtic sword found in Stanwick, Yorkshire. The scabbard is of ash, and when found it still had the blade in the scabbard.

Both of these are featured in Dr Ian Stead's opus:

British Iron Age Swords and Scabbards I M Stead (British Museum Press 2006) ISBN 0714123234

Scaled drawings, photo's and descriptions of, I think, every iron age sword found in Britain.

Not cheap but recommended.
