Crests
#1
Ave!

Is there a way to make your own crests, because I may buy a corinthian helmet for a collection of greek and roman stuff.
Dan/Anastasios of Sparta/Gaius Statilius Rusticus/ Gaius Germanicus Augustus Flavius Romulus Caesar Tiberius Caelius (Imperator  <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_twisted.gif" alt="" title="Twisted Evil" /> )
Yachts and Saabs are for whimps!
Real men have Triremes and Chariots 8) <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="8)" title="Cool" />8) !

Fairly easy...I found that once you get the crest box drilled out (do this slowly!), that a partner for bundling the horse hair bits and handing them to you as you glue'em and stick'em in the holes makes it a lot easier.

Look for the thread "Making a Corinthian crest" in the Greek section. I posted a how-to with plans and instructions. Pics, also. It'll get you going...

I made one very similar for a Corinthian using that thread as a basis...

Wow,Peroni,I really like your crest! Can you give me some info? How many holes did you make in each row? And how many rows? Two or three? And what I'm most interested,in what point and how much did you start letting the hairs longer to make the tail? The most difficult to produce,I think,is this smoothe passing from the crest to the tail. Could you give also a horse hair suplyer?
How much hair did you use for the crest?

50 rows of three holes (150 holes) at 1/4"

I don't know what the helmet was it was fitted to I was only supplied with the profile.

The hair starts getting longer for the tail at about row 33.
