Who\'s Who in Roman Military Studies
#1
Last year I started a "Who's Who in Roman Military Studies"<br>
<br>
www.geocities.com/richsc5...homilitary<br>
<br>
but I have not worked on it in a while. I just received an email from Prof. Strobel asking for inclusion, and I thought to ask the board who else might now be rightfully included in the listing.<br>
Can't say as I know who Prof Strobel is; any elucidation?<br>

"Dear Collegues,<br>
<br>
I think I'm not totally wrong that You should ad my name to Your list.<br>
Yours sincerely<br>

Strobel has written a lot about the Danubian wars of Domitian and Traian, including the most thorough book on Trajan's Dacian wars (at least as far as I know).<br>
<br>
His opinion on Domitan's role in the introduction of a 'new militaristic aspect' into Roman emperorship does differ a little from my opinion, but otherwise he produced some great stuff.<br>
<br>
Almost everything in German though... <p></p><i></i>

I love this stuff--I was watching the history channel and they were talking about hwo the Roman Army had staples (a very sanitory way for mending for wounds) LONG before we even developed them here! You guys prob. already knew that, but I thought it was cool. <p></p><i></i>

I was just scrolling around and noticed this thread.

To hold your list on actuality,I have few informations for you:

Dr. Salvatore Ortisi is at the University of Cologne now and does his research about weapons and horse-equipment from the Vesuv-Area (ostia etc.)
Look here: http://www.archaeologie.uni-koeln.de/le ... rtisi.html

Prof. Dr. Thomas Fischer is still working there, too: http://www.archaeologie.uni-koeln.de/le ... ischer.htm

The Adress is for both the same (just add the names)
