I'm afraid all I know how to say in German is, "I am a doughnut."
I can do "Ich heise Crispvs"; "Ich bin hungrig" and "Wo ist dem Barnhoff", but that's about it for my German. English is another matter though. My degree is a B.A. (double major) in History and Classical Studies with a Post Grad Diploma in Teaching and I have been proof reading foreign students' Ph.D. theses and correcting and advising them on spelling and grammar for some years now. I can't help much with the translation but I should be able to help out on the proof reading side of things.
Proofreading my translation would be extremely helpful !
My last exams in English were in 2002 and since then I have become a little rusty.

I hope to do the translation concerning the III Italica on Saturday (if I fail to complete it in time, a friend of mine has a key, so I can also work on Sundays).

Should I send the text both to you and to Jasper, or only to you, so that the raw translation and the proofread text don't get mixed up ?

Jasper, what do you think ?

Greetings,

BTW, it's 'Wo ist der Bahnhof ?'

Edited by: FLAVIUS PROMOTUS at: 12/10/03 8:15 am

Please send the raw stuff to me, so I can keep track of who's doing what. I'll pass it on to volunteers for proofreading.
Thanks by the way dudes!
Greets
Hi Jasper,

I come from Asciburgium in Germania Inferior and German is my mother language! If You still need help, I am ready to volunteer in translating a part. But I left Grammar school several years ago and I don't know how good my English is and whether I can fulfill Your requirements; I have no practical experience in translating from German to English.

So proofreading would surely be necessary. If You have a not too large text for me, let me know.
Hi Uwe,
That's ok, there are short pieces too. Do you have access to Ritterling yourself or do you need photocopies?
Sorry Jasper,
I won't be able to complete the article on II Italica within the next days. Buying stupid presents for christmas and re-cooking chicken filled (Apicius!) both took up too much time.

I'll try to complete it at soon as possible.

Greetings to all of you and
have a nice time !
