Ecellent Jyrki! Now I'd only dare to suggest a longer shaft for the draco..

Robert, you're a psychic! Just thought about that. Btw, waiting for a new migration period spear tip from Poland and will have to buy shafts anyway...

Excellent, athmospheric photos Robert! The colour composition is wonderful, warm red, orange, brown hues contrasted with the icy blue and white. Dammit, I must reconstruct something new soon !

Superb pictures- looking very good. Looking at the pictures, you've decided not to paint the inside of the shield?

Quote:you've decided not to paint the inside of the shield? Not yet anyway. I'm still a bit doubtful. Unpainted, you can show very good how the shield is constructed from small planks.

Unpainted, you can show very good how the shield is constructed from small planks. I will make a confession here. I ordered my scutum with orders to have the front side painted red with the white "Fectio" emblem on it. I also asked if the back side could be painted blue. When I opened the parcel I noticed that I got a shield with a blue frontside and unpainted backside! I thought it looked surprisingly cool and I also found evidence supporting it from the Notitia Dignitatum. There you have it !
