Quote:There are two lines in the front curve (this is done to give more strength to the buckle). I understand that statement when talking about a formed (e.g. hammered) one, but don't understand this comment for your casted one, as in this case it seems to make little sense to me.

My old project on which I workedPugio frogs with plate from Cortesia Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum - Mainz-D) First Century AD.On the original can be seen that there are additional ornaments (grape leaves) ,but image is not clear enough!
It is clear that the details were tinned. But maybe during the restoration tin coverage is removed. If someone has a qualitative picture of this detail or similar I'll be grateful if he will share them with me! http://www.roma-victrix.com/armamentariu...ngulae.htm Brass casting. The dimensions of my reply is: Plate thickness 1.5 mm, The width of the plate is 33 mm ,the length of the plate is 58 mm.Width of the hanger is 37 mm. Length of the hanger 52 mm.

Then I slam the very umbo elements (using a different instrument). After that follows a long process of cutting, shaping and polishing.
There are different variations of this model, casted or stamped I make a rivet version! On the picture above is clearly visible the open rivet. [URL=http://www.radikal.ru][/URL
