One piece was used, I'm sure of that. But for an amateur woodbutcher, the transition from pyramid to round rod is a bit of a bother. Yet, that has nothing to do with its historicity.

Make sure downrange is clear, exhale as you throw, and be careful, as it's easy to pop an elbow or strain a shoulder throwing something heavy and awkward like a pilum. Keep us posted on your results!
