Aventine do fantastic figures. There's no doubt about it. Those above are beautiful and so very finely detailed. Absolutely first class! I really like these sort of 'advancing' postures as well - they are better (IMHO) than the static shields-up/spears-sticking-out poses, or the standing-to-attention/spears-vertical types. They would be getting some serious orders from me if they did some Greeks like this (especially Spartans) with officers/musicians/ensigns/kings/personalities etc.

I know Hellenic troops are well covered by other manufacturers - but nobody does very good Spartans (especially later period). Foundry used to do a good selection but they have whittled it right down to surprisingly few and the ones they kept are not even the best figures! The Warlord figures mentioned above now produce some Greeks/Spartans - and they are not bad (former Immortal Figures) - but they are precisely the kind of postures I don't like much since they hide so much of the figure and are difficult to line up behind each other. I know it is just personal taste, but a bunch of figures waving spears around (like the Warlord ones above) no matter how finely crafted, just look like a rabble to me!

You know what to do guys! I notice you have produced some Pyrrhic Epeirote/Makedonian phalangite figures which are superb too. Just expand out to cover other late Greeks and you could clear up here!!!
