Anyone think of anyone else? Anyone with enough ambition to be
the leader of a country generally has too much ambition to be a good one.
Is not Cincinnatus the most famous example of one who accepted office reluctantly, performed brilliantly, and then departed happily back to private life. A truly Noble Roman.
We should all be so lucky to have such leaders.
There is an old Chinese say:
A leader is best who, when the task is completed, his followers say "We did this ourselves."
