Any info would be appreciated..I suggest you check out this site. Ulrich Schädler has devoted as much study to this topic as anyone, especially with regard to latrunculi. http://www.boardgamesstudies.org/research/notes.shtml
Who has this to say about the other website:
A nicely illustrated site about board games ( http://ablemedia.com/ctcweb/showcase/boardgames.html or http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/w/x/w ... games.html ) created by W. J. Kowalski promises some valuable information, but unfortunately it is – pardon, if I appear unpolite and harsh – completely misleading, because the author relies on second and third hand information and is ignorant of the basic studies to the subject and of the actual state of research.
