Early 2nd AD Pugio Reconstruction ?

well I have finished scabbard so this is the fitting of the ring hangers,
   

This is the back, I just used simple nails to attach the rings,
   

I then thought what would throw the inserts of best and like Phil posted I agree this is what was possible done. If these were left just in iron rust would show very quick unless like gun barrels they were allowed to rust then polished another possibility, but I think blueing does the job very well Smile
